What is HEVC/H.265? How does HEVC/H.265 Work?
HEVC, short for High Efficiency Video Coding, is a successor to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding). Also know as H.265, HEVC is the latest video compression standard that is said to double the data compression ratio compared to H.264/AVC at the same level of video quality. Video encoded with HEVC will maintain the high visual quality, but at a smaller file size. Compared to the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High profile, the average bitrate reduction for HEVC was 52% for 480p, 56% for 720p, 62% for 1080p, and 64% for 4K UHD.

How to convert movies to HEVC/H.265 video format with HD Video Converter?

Follow these steps:
Step 1: Start up HD Video Converter as a professional HEVC/H.265 Video Encoder. When its main interface pops up, click ‘Add File’ to input your source media.
Step 2: Select HEVC/H.265 as output format
From ‘Profile’ list, choose‘HD Video’ > ‘H.265 Video (*.mp4)’ as target format. 
Note that the default resolution for this profile is 1080p. If you need to change the resolution to 720p or something else, you can click “Settings” button to custom video resolution on ‘Profile Settings’ window below.
To create 4K HEVC/H.265 files, you can simply select ‘4K Video’ > ‘H.265 Video (*.mp4)’ as output format.
Important: If you’ve loaded a number of video clips to do batch conversion, please do remember ticking off ‘Apply to All’ option before you start.
Step 3: Start movies to HEVC/H.265 conversion
When ready, click ‘Convert’ to start format conversion. As soon as the conversion is complete, you can click ‘Open Folder’ button to get the exported HEVC/H.265 files.
