Needed to convert Sony A77 II AVCHD media to DNxHD for use with Avid on OS X Mavericks 10.9 platform
“Hi, there, I’m looking for a good batch converter to convert AVCHD footage from Sony A77 II for editing in my Mac Avid MC v6.5. I had other program and wasn’t happy with quality.  Not pleased with AMA plugins import neither. Anyone got any suggestions? I don’t want to lose HD quality on the video. Thanks.”

As a matter of fact, Avid does have AVCHD support. Just need to load the AMA plugins. So you could have AMA linked directly to the AVCHD files. If that doesn’t work (Not all AVCHD formats are supported), there are a lot of AVCHD converters out there that will convert Sony A77 II AVCHD to DNxHD MOV. If you need a converter that gives results that will closely match the original .mts file, then HD Video Converter for Mac is your ideal choice. You can download a demo version to see if it is able to do what you want.

You can download a demo version (for both, Mac and Windows) to have a try. They are not free but it is totally worth it.
