How do I insert a .swf file into Windows Movie Maker?
“Hi, all, I have a flash animation in .swf format which I want load into Movie Maker for editing. My issue is that WMM won’t recognize the SWF files as import. I have a pretty good understanding of Flash but this is my first time using windows movie maker. How can I import a flash .swf file to Movie Maker? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much for your help!”

.swf is not a supported file type for importing to Windows Movie Maker.  What we suggest is finding a video file converter and turning that .swf file into a .wmv or dv avi file.  One converter we’ve used in the past is HD Video Converter.  It claims to also handle .swf format.  If you do install this converter app, you are able to convert SWF to WMV/DV AVI for use in WMM with optimum performance.

In addition to handle .swf format, this converter app is able to convert 4K, 2K, Full HD 1080p/1080i, HD 720p and SD video files in format of AVCHD, MTS, M2T, M2TS, TS, MXF, MKV, H.264, P2 MXF, AVI, MP4, WMV, MOV, M4V, etc. to any formats you request with very good quality.
