How can I work with XAVC S footage in Vegas Pro 12?

“Hi, there, does anyone know how I can work with XAVC S footage in Vegas Pro 12? I know the version 12 has added native support for Sony’s XAVC 4K format, but XAVC S is not supported presently. My question is, what should I possibly do to make Vegas Pro 12 recognize XAVC-S MP4 files without upgrading to Vegas Pro 13? Do I need to convert these XAVC-S files to another format or how do I import them into Vegas Pro 12 so I can edit them? I really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.”
