“Hello guys, I need to output a FCP X project to a WebM file for one of my clients. My problem is that I cannot find WebM as an export option in Final Cut Pro X. I tried using MPEG Streamclip, but the same as FCP X, it doesn’t have a WebM export option. What third-party software I could use to do this? Or any workarounds available to do this? With a little workarounds, you can do this in two steps:
1. Export the FCP X project as an H.264 MOV movie.
2. Convert the H.264 QuickTime FCP X output into WebM format.

To encode FCP X export to WebM, do as below:
Step 1: Click “Add File” to load FCP X output into this program.
Step 2: Click “Profile” list to select WebM as output format.
To output 1080p WebM files, select ”HD Video” > “WebM VP8 – HD WebM Video (*.webm)” or “WebM VP9 – HD WebM Video (*.webm)” as output format.
To output 4K WebM files, select ”4K Video” > “WebM VP8 – 4K WebM Video (*.webm)” or “WebM VP9 – 4K WebM Video (*.webm)” as output format.
Step 3: Advanced settings
If necessary, you can click “Settings” button to modify video and audio parameters like encoder, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, aspect ratio, sample rate, and audio channels. You can also “enable 3D Settings” to add 3D effect to your source media.
Step 4: Click “Convert” to start encoding FCP X output to WebM format.
As soon as the conversion is complete, click “Open Folder” to get the generated WebM file.
