For a fast and fluid Sony PXW-X200 XAVC workflow with Avid, users need to download and install the XAVC/XDCAM Plug-in for Avid (PDZK-MA2). This plug-in makes it easy and direct to use Sony PXW-X200 XAVC files in Avid, but it won’t work in all situations. In that case, we do recommend “transcoded editing”. That means you convert the XAVC footage captured with a Sony PXW-X200 to an intermediate format that is full compatible with your editing program, say, DNxHD encoded .mov format. This requires third party software like HD Video Converter. This converter app comes in both Windows and Mac version, being able to work on the most recent Windows 8/Windows 8.1 and Mac Yosemite platforms. In addition to XAVC .mxf files, it also reads Canon MXF, P2 MXF, Sony XDCAM/XDCAM HD MXF, Sony XAVC-S MP4, XDCAM EX MP4, as well as AVCHD .mts/.m2ts files, H.264 MOV files, ProRes .mov files and other popular file types as input and converts them to whatever format you request fitting for editing, playing, sharing, etc.

You can download a demo version to have a try. They are not free but it is totally worth it.
