Is there a way to import Sony PXW-X70 XAVC media to Edius 6?
“Hi, there, I use Edius 6 and would like to import XAVC footage from a Sony PXW-X70 to it for editing. Unfortunately, the EDIUS 6 won’t read PXW-X70 XAVC footage as input. Does that mean I have to upgrade to Edius 7 for XAVC editing or is there another way to go about this?
Here are my video specs:
XAVC HD : MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 4:2:2 Long profile
XAVC HD : Linear PCM 2ch, 24 bit, 48 kHz
I would really appreciate any help. Thanks a lot.”
If you don’t want to change to the latest EDIUS Pro 7, you will need to transcode Sony PXW-X70 XAVC MXF files to a format that is suited for editing in EDIUS, like WMV, MOV, DNxHD and more. This requires 3rd party program like HD Video Converter. It seems to be the best method of converting Sony PXW-X70 XAVC MXF files to EDIUS editable files.
You can download a demo version (for both, PC and Mac) to have a try. They are not free but it is totally worth it.
